Bosch washing machine WAN24100 Series 4 Stops cycle after 5 seconds

after starting any wash, the machine starts filling and then stops after 5 seconds. There is no error code. I have to manually open the door, reset, and try again but the same thing happens. I have unplugged it; reset and retried it ten times but still it stops after 5 seconds. I am a teacher so please could you email me as I can't always answer the phone.

Hi Rohan  I'll do my best to help with the problem, but without having the machine here, it's quite tricky for me to diagnose. Let's go through some steps to check if there's an issue with the printed circuit board.

Firstly, I suggest doing a meter test on both water valves. There are a couple of solenoids on the electrical water valve inside the machine. Even if it's filling, an open circuit in one of the valves could stop the programme.

Next, we need to check for any loose wires or open circuits. So, examine all the electrical connections on items. When the machine starts filling with water, the motor turns clockwise and anti-clockwise at 50 RPM. Ensure the motor is in good condition. This model may have carbon brushes in the motor, so inspect those too. An open circuit in the motor could also trigger an error.

After filling, usually, the heater comes on, but it might be coming on early and causing a problem. It's worth doing a continuity check on the heating element to ensure it's in good condition. Also, check all wiring while you're there.

The other possibility is a faulty door lock circuit, but this is quite rare for this type of machine, especially if it starts. If everything else seems fine, it might be the printed circuit board. When it stops, can you reset the machine straight away? If so, then it could be the board; if not, it might be the electrical filter at the back right-hand side.
