Whirlpool FSCR10432 Washing Machine Drum Is Banging Against the Outer Case
Hi Paul, I have a Whirlpool FSCR10432 Washing Machine. This has been happening since new. We are about to throw it away and I just watched your video dismantling an fscr10431 so i thought you may have some ideas. Under warranty we brought out an engineer who said that he couldn't find anything. I questioned the shock absorbers but he was of the opinion that they wouldn't be faulty when new. The shipping bolts, which I still have were bent on removal but again he didn't think could be a sign of damage. This machine is supposed to be whisper quiet and has been anything but, do you know of anything that may be a cause of the drum banging against the case? It's my last chance before it gets thrown away, which is a shame as it was an expensive machine when we bought it. Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Richard
Hi Richard, sorry to hear about the problem regarding your Whirlpool FSCR10432 Washing Machine.
Thanks very much for sending the question in. I haven't got a lot of technical information on this model, but I will tell you if the machine is unable to empty in the allocated period of time, this may cause a problem. If the suspension legs were faulty when new, this could also be a problem.
The washing machine should be balancing the load prior to going into spin. It might be worth checking the way that you're loading the machine. Sometimes if you're putting heavy items in that absorb a lot of water, and they are large, they can congregate on one side of the drum. As the machine picks up into spin, this would cause an imbalanced load. But the drum should rebalance the clothing every time this happens.
You may have a fault with the machine, but without having the machine in front of me, I understand this is a very difficult one for me to diagnose. You haven't sent me a video or any information beyond the email that you sent, and I would need to physically see the machine to be able to give you a proper conclusion.
If you can provide additional details, photos, or a video showing the issue, that would help me investigate further. In the meantime, try redistributing your load more evenly and avoid overloading the drum with heavy, water-absorbent items bunched together.
