Which Tumble Dryer to Buy? Advice on Replacement
Hi, with all you years of experience what make and model (vented/condensor) tumble dryer would you recommend for longevity and easy fixing. I see you have a few below videos that look good and I have given up on heat pump ones as our one has failed and is uneconomical to fix. Thanks Nick
Hi Nick,
I completely understand your frustration with heat pump tumble dryers, as they really do become uneconomical to fix once they suffer a major failure. When it comes to recommending a specific make and model for a new vented or condenser dryer, the honest truth is that every single manufacturer produces good and bad quality machines across their ranges.
Rather than hunting for one specific magic model, I would strongly suggest sticking with a brand that comfortably suits your budget and openly supplies their technical information and exploded diagrams to the public. If you can easily look up the spare parts online, you actually have a fighting chance of repairing it yourself down the line.
Most importantly, try to find a manufacturer that gives you at least a 5-year warranty right out of the box. That guarantees you total peace of mind for half a decade before you even need to think about picking up a screwdriver. That is honestly my absolute best advice, mate! Stick to a standard condenser or vented machine with a solid warranty, and you will save yourself a lot of headaches.
All the best,
Paul
