We’ve been putting the Hoover HVCT3L517EWKR-1 through its paces. As a retailer who also repairs and recycles these machines, I always want to see what's actually under the hood and how the gear holds up day-to-day. Here is my honest, in-depth take on this model.

Capacity & Layout

• Generous Fridge Space (151 Litres): The upper fresh-food compartment gives you 151 litres of usable space, which is spot-on for couples or small families. It easily handles weekly shops with room to spare on the door balconies and adjustable glass shelving.

• Substantial Freezer Space (101 Litres): Unlike older or more compact combis where the freezer feels like an afterthought, the 101-litre lower section features 4 well-proportioned transparent drawers. You can actually get your bulk items, joints of meat, and frozen veg stored away properly.

• Manufacturer Backing: Hoover backs this model with a 10-year parts warranty alongside 1 year of labour. A 10-year parts warranty certainly helps if major components like the compressor or the defrost system break down, but you do still have to pay for the repair call-out. As someone who strongly believes in the right to repair, it would be much better if manufacturers gave a long warranty that includes both parts and labour. My personal wish is that they would offer a standard five-year parts and labour guarantee across the board. However, seeing a decade-long commitment to spare parts availability is at least a step in the right direction.
