Smeg CC92MX9 Cooker Oven Tangential Cooling Fan Is Staying On at All Times
Hi mate. My Smeg CC92MX9 cooker oven stopped working and turns out it blew the thermostatic safety cut out switch ( CAMPINI Ty60 10/250~, 16/250~, T210). This allowed the oven to operate however the tangential fan sitting up top is constantly running. I have seen your video regarding this issue and think it’s the thermostat however I do not know where this is or what part I need to order. I’m quite competent in fixing many things, cars, machinery etc but this is my first oven rodeo! Appreciate all your help thanks

Hi Hassan, sorry to hear about the problem with your Smeg CC92MX9 Cooker Oven.
A cooling fan that runs constantly often points to a faulty thermostat. In many ovens, the fan remains silent until the temperature rises above around 70°C. A small thermostat, usually positioned on top of the oven near the fan assembly, senses this heat and closes its electrical contact, allowing power to reach the fan.
Once the cooker is switched off and the oven cools, typically after half an hour or so, the temperature should fall below 70°C. The thermostat then opens again, cutting power to the fan motor. If it fails to do so, the fan may continue running.
This is a common fault. I have gathered the available exploded diagrams and technical information, along with a video explaining how the system works and where the thermostat may be found. Its exact position can vary between manufacturers.
