Siemens SF24T252GB/01 Dishwasher Check Water Light Comes On & Doesn’t Continue Cycle

Customer Question

I have a Siemens SF24T252GB/01 Dishwasher. After starting the dishwasher in a wash cycle, I can hear motors working and water gurgling, but after up to 1 minute the water check light comes on, but motors and gurgling continue then pause, for a short while then starts again. At this point, opening the door shows water accumulating at the bottom of the machine above the level of the ss filter grid. This continues for two or three times, and eventually stops At this point the bottom of the pan is full of water, but not overflowing. If I now do a reset, the water empties via the drain pipe and shortly no water is left in the bottom of the pan.Have checked and cleaned filters, confirmed correct volume of water flow from my supply. I then removed top and left sides, I removed the two wires to the aquastop valve. Applying mains power to the terminals of the cable to the aquastop valve causes clicking as the solenoids try to actuate. To ascertain the solenoid function, I removed the inlet hose from its position inside the machine, beneath the weird water channel assembly, to enable me to monitor outlet from the water pipe, which was positioned to fill a bucket. When I dubiously switched on, expecting a fast gush of water, water did flow but very little. This leads me to suspect that the aquastop solenoids are indeed not opening fully.Would you agree with my suspicions, please?I know that it is possible to obtain the valve separate from the hose. Would this be a viable solution or should I buy the complete hose. There are several sources on the net, but would you have any recommended supplier-please? I might add that for all its years, the machine has not been used very often.Thanks.

I will try and help with this problem about Siemens SF24T252GB/01 Dishwasher,

Hi Peter,

It's hard for me to diagnose problems via email, and I apologise because I'm currently in North Africa exploring the appliance industry. You can see more on our YouTube channel.

Regarding your issue, if the machine can't fill within the set time, it will cause an error. Since you mentioned that the aquaflow hose isn't allowing water through quickly, check the filters inside the aquastop first. They might be clogged with sediment. Low water pressure could also be a reason why the machine isn't filling in time.

Look at part 0409 in your machine's exploded diagrams. This is the water flow matrix, which can get clogged and may need cleaning. The aquastop hose has a protection system to prevent flooding, but it has an expensive water valve at the far end. You might find one cheaply on eBay or another site.

I've included a full list of spare parts for your machine below and any other information I could find. Good luck with your repair. I'm sorry I can't be more specific without seeing the machine. I've also added some related videos to help you.

Good luck with your repair!
