Samsung WD90TA046BX Washer Dryer Drum Needs to Be Replaced

August 29, 2026
Customer Question

My partner is an engineer, he has dismantled my Samsung WD90TA046BX washer dryer following one of your videos after I've been asked for £242 by Lothian Domestic to fix it. We expected to order a new drum for £80-150 but when I messaged different sellers to check for compatibility and availability they all answered that the drum we wanted to buy was not compatible (DC97-22367A) and that they didn't have the right part in stock. We ordered one prior to this but it has not been shipped and we got a refund only after asking for a delivery update. I contacted Samsung and they refused to communicate the drum exact reference. I understand that they have to make these parts available to both particulars and professionals but make them impossible to purchase. Can you help me source a new drum? I financially cannot afford the initial quote, a new appliance or launderette services. Thank you.

Hi Anastasia, thank you for getting in touch about your Samsung WD90TA046BX washer dryer.

We understand how frustrating it is when a drum needs replacing, and we're here to help you find the right part and get your machine working again.

Identifying the Correct Drum for Your Machine

Your model has several drum variations available, which can make it tricky to identify the exact part you need. We've sent your serial number to our supplier to narrow down which of the five options is the correct fit for your specific machine. Once we've confirmed the right part, we'll get back to you straight away.

In the meantime, we've prepared a PDF that shows what we believe is your model's drum assembly. Have a look through it and let us know if it matches what you're seeing inside your machine. If you spot any differences or aren't sure, just send us a photo of the existing drum or the part number stamped on it, and we can verify it for you.

Video Guide for Drum Removal

Replacing a drum can seem daunting, but with the right guidance it's very manageable. We've put together a video showing you how to safely dismantle your washer dryer and access the drum. Even if you've already had a look or watched something similar before, it's worth reviewing as it covers some helpful tips that can save you time and prevent damage to other components.

Samsung Drum Spider Corrosion – A Known Issue

If you've noticed white or orange deposits on your drum spider (the metal support structure inside the drum), you're not alone. Samsung used aluminium for the drum spider in many models, and unfortunately this material is prone to corrosion over time. We're creating a detailed video exploring why this happens, what causes it, and how you can help prevent it in future.

Keep an eye on our channel as we'll be releasing this soon. It's a common issue across many Samsung machines, and understanding the root cause can help you spot early warning signs and take action before serious damage occurs.

Next Steps

We'll be in touch as soon as we hear back from our supplier with confirmation of your drum part. In the meantime, feel free to review the PDF and video we've sent over. If you have any questions or need further assistance, just let us know.
