I will try and help with this problem about Neff U16E74N5GB/01 Oven,

Hi Justin,

Sorry to hear about the noise from your fan oven. You mentioned you have an FU16E74N5GB/01 model. If the bottom fan oven is noisy, there could be a few different issues. Let's go through them.

I've included diagrams and a list of spare parts for your model at the bottom of the page. There's also a link at the top and a couple of videos about fan oven problems.

First, if your fan oven gets noisy when it warms up, the blade might be loose or catching on the front fan guard or the fan oven element. The gaps between these parts are very small, so even a slight wobble can cause noise as the oven heats up. Remember, metal expands when it gets hot, making these gaps even smaller.

Another possibility is that the fan oven motor is getting noisy because its bearings are worn out. This is trickier to fix since you need to take apart the cooker to remove the motor. Here's what you should do:

1. Remove the fan guard at the front of the cooker.
2. Try using the oven without the fan guard. If the noise stops, check the distance between the fan blades and the guard. The guard might be damaged and pushed inwards.
3. If there's still noise, make sure the fan blade is tightly attached to the motor. Note that you need to turn it anti-clockwise to tighten it.

If the blade isn't loose and isn't catching on anything, then it's likely a motor issue. To remove it:

1. Undo the nut holding the blade by turning it clockwise.
2. Carefully wiggle and pull off the blade; it might be stuck due to corrosion.
3. Disconnect the power supply before starting any work.
4. Take a photo of how the wires are connected to ensure you reattach them correctly.
5. Different models have different ways of securing the motor—some use screws, others use a twist-lock mechanism.

I've added some videos below for more details, and you can find more information on YouTube.
