LG F1406TDSP6 Washing Machine Drum Not Turning Freely & Noisy When Spinning

Also, thank you very much for sending the video in. It really helped me diagnose the problem. It looks like the bearings and the spider may have gone on this machine. Just follow the instructions below to assist you. 

I'm afraid there is both good news and bad news. The noise you describe suggests a fault with either the bearings or the drum spider, and both sit deep within the machine. Reaching them is a serious repair, requiring the washing machine to be stripped down almost completely.

The good news is that LG machines are among the more repairable models. Their drums can usually be split apart, giving you access to the bearings and spider, unlike many sealed-drum machines where the entire unit must be replaced.

I have several YouTube videos that guide you through the dismantling process, and I will include a few to help. Until the machine is opened up, it is impossible to say with certainty whether the bearings or the spider have failed. However, the videos may help you recognise the signs and uncover the true cause.
