Indesit I1 D80W UK Vented Tumble Dryer Needs A Replacement Door Gasket

Hi Paul, our indesit i1d80wuk tumble dryer has a frayed door gasket on the door itself around the glass part. I have found a replacement (not yet purchased) but I can't find any video on how to remove the old one and fix the new one. Is there some self-adhesive strip on the gasket and is the old one easy to rip out? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Good morning, Abby. I'm not quite sure which part you're referring to, but I've got the full exploded diagrams of your machine to help you. I think you might be talking about the felt seal between the drum and the front door.

You will need to take the lid off the two side panels first. Then, you can remove the front panel. It's quite a big job, but I have some dismantling videos for this machine that will help you.

I made a video on the old type many years ago, and though I haven't updated it yet, it will show you how the seal attaches to the plate. If I remember correctly, the seal is self-adhesive, so you just need to peel the paper back to attach it to the panel. Make sure to thoroughly clean the panel and remove the old seal first. Use thinners to get rid of any remaining adhesive before fitting the new seal.
