Indesit Dishwasher DIFP18B1UK Flashing green power button fault 5
Flashing green power button and fault 5
I will try and help with your Indesit Dishwasher DIFP18B1UK problem.
I'm not sure what you mean about the fault 5, but usually green light flashing is related to an antiflood error code. Water will be in the base of the machine activating the float switch.
What you need to do is pull the dishwasher out and tip it 45 degs backwards. The water will then come out from the bottom so you will need a towel for this part.
Once the water is drained out from the base the anti flood switch will reset itself and the dishwasher will then start to work again from there.
But if it does it again then theres a leak in there which you will need to find and fix to cure the problem.

I have also added some exploded diagrams below with a full list of parts and some videos to assist you
- Dishwasher not draining.
This is normally a pump problem or can also be a blockage in the draining system also if fitted to a sink unit check this fitting as they can block. When the pipes cool the fat of plates and pans can congeal in the pipes and fittings over time. So clean everything well.
- Not circulating the water around the dishwasher.
Check the main motor is running and pumping water around the dishwasher at pressure, check spay arms do not have food bits clogging the holes, check there is enough water in the base of the machine.
- Not cleaning well
This can be a few things, check the dishwasher heater is getting water to the correct temperature, again check the motor is pumping water around the dishwasher correctly. Make sure all sensors are working correctly especially the NTC sensors. Check salt and rinse aid levels.
- The dishwasher pump always running.
This can be a fault where you have a leak inside the machine, there are anti-flood devices in a lot of dishwashers if these are activated the dishwasher will go into safety mode and not start.
- No water entering the dishwasher.
This can be bad water supply, water valve not working, flow meter not working (impeller jug). The Flow Metrix is normally on the left-hand side behind the side panel.
- The machine reports a fault code or error code
Error codes can be on the display or given in certain lights flashing sequences. Washing machine fault codes are not universal but may only point you or an engineer in the right direction they are not 100% accurate they are only that for guidance. Your owner’s manual may help you identify the problem and even suggest a fix. In other cases, you’ll need an engineer to trace the fault. Don’t be tempted to ignore a fault code, even if the machine seems to be functioning normally. Some codes are ‘early warning signs’ and fixing the machine at an early stage could save you time and money in the long run.
