I understand washer dryer combos are generally not recommended over separates, however there is absolutely no space in the property to have both. Previously we have only had a washing machine (Hotpoint) in which the bearings have just failed. It is not economical to repair due to the sealed drum. I thought this was exclusive to more budget machines, however it seems every main European manufacturer uses a sealed drum in machines even touching £1000. I was looking at machines with a 5 year warranty such as bosch series 6 or aeg 8000 combos Overall are there any recommendations for a decent washer dryer, that actually dries and might be reliable outside the 5 year warranty when it finishes. Keep It Simple
First, keep things simple. You don't need Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, auto dosing systems, or other gadgets they try to sell. A five-year guarantee is the best advice I can offer.

To choose wisely, use the manufacturer's technical info. If you're considering a Bosch washing machine, check its full model number on the ID plate. Go to Bosch's website and look at part prices for the circuit board, drum, and motor. This will show how the company operates outside the warranty period.

After travelling through Portugal, Spain, and Ireland to visit appliance engineers, I've learned they all think manufacturers design machines with built-in obsolescence through costly spare parts.
