Hotpoint TDWSF 83B EP (UK) Condenser Tumble Dryer Switches Off
Sometimes my Hotpoint TDWSF 83B EP (UK) Condenser Tumble Dryer will turn itself off after starting, not always. The LCD screen goes blank. To start it up again I have to turn the dial to the off position and back to the required setting and off it goes, I suspect it’s the PCB for the control knob.

The circuit board may be disconnecting, but the electrical filter or suppressor could also be the cause. At the back right of the machine, two wires connect to the circuit board: live and neutral.
If these wires lose power because of a faulty filter, this may cause the problem. If power is still present when the machine switches off, the circuit board may be faulty.
It is hard to diagnose without seeing the machine. Please search our YouTube channel for a video about intermittent electrical faults. I have also included exploded diagrams that may help with the repair.
