Hoover HL C10DF-80 Tumble Dryer Error Code E08
Our Hoover HL C10DF-80 tumble dryer wasn't able to always start on its own unless we helped spin the drum replaced the capacitor and now it's running perfectly again. Ran it for 20 mins and the control panel lit up like a Christmas tree beeping error e08The dryer is also cold, had no issues hearing prior to replacing capacitor so wondering if we've knocked out a wire or something or damaged something as we've taken it apart. One last try before I buy a new one. Household of 4 kids (Scottish weather) can't get washing dry haha

Good morning, Kelly. I'm sorry to hear about the problem with your tumble dryer. Hoover tumble dryers sometimes show an E08 error code when they overheat. This could happen if the dryer isn't always turning, which means it doesn't get the airflow it needs over the heater.
The fan blade on the back of the motor circulates air through the machine. If the airflow is restricted or not blowing at all, the thermostats on top of the heater may overheat. There are usually two thermostats on the heater. The problem is that these aren't normally sold separately; you have to buy the whole heater unit. One of these thermostats is a cutout thermostat, designed to protect the machine if it overheats, but it doesn't reset itself.

Please make sure you vacuum clean the whole inside of the machine and all the ducts. Unplug the appliance, take the panel on the rear off and test the thermostats on the heater. If it's tripped, you need a new heater. (thermostats aren't available separately.) yet
