Hoover DYC 8913 B -80 tumble dryer Not Heating Thermal Fuse blown
Sir, Firstly, A Happy New Year and thank you for the excellent videos, which have been so helpful. A pint or two will definitely be on the way after this problem is finally resolved!I now realise our dryer had two problems. Initially I replaced the thermal fuse mounted above the heater (left side) but it has now blown again. Sometimes the dryer failed to start with the buzzing sound which I have learnt from your video is a failed or failing condenser, so yesterday I ordered a replacement (7mf) and another thermal fuse from your eBay shop. I managed to carefully extract the defective condenser with the drum in place. After discussions with my wife I understand that sometimes the dryer stops mid cycle, when hot, with the same buzzing sound, presumably when about to change direction. Error code, possibly E8 and/or flashing display occurred.I have tested everything else I can reach with the exception of a temp sensor at the back in the ducting below the drum. I am reluctant to remove the drum incase I have a problem re-fitting the belt! From the above, do you think it is possible that the replacement thermal fuses blew (after a couple of weeks) due to overheating when the drum failed to reverse and the heaters may have still been active? Your advise will be very much appreciatedkind regardsRobert

if the motor at any point had stopped this may cause the heater to overheat because the airflow would not be going over the heater, the other reasons why the TOC could fail if people open the door mid-cycle or the tumble dryer is not allowed to complete its program the machine will not go down. the cool-down period at the end of each program is important also if the filters are blocked or any restriction in airflow this would also cause the heater to get too hot, the TOC is designed to blow when it exceeds 206 degrees or more I have added some useful videos to assist you in any repairs in the future and also an exploded diagram of the machine I have also sent you over a PDF file and I have listed all the error fault codes codes below
