I will try and help with this problem about Hoover DX C9TCE-80 Condenser Tumble Dryer,
Hi Jon,
Sorry to hear about the problem with your Hoover condenser tumble dryer, model number DXC9TCE-80. I understand you're looking for the correct capacitor. Often, manufacturers sell the capacitor only with the motor, so you have to buy the whole unit. But don't worry, we have universal capacitors that will fit your machine perfectly.
I need to know the size of the capacitor, which is usually between 7uF and 9uF, depending on the motor type in your machine. You'll need to dismantle the machine to find the capacitor. This isn't easy on Hoover tumble dryers, but it's worth doing properly. Good maintenance saves money on energy and improves efficiency.
As you take apart the dryer, keep a vacuum cleaner handy to clean up dust and fluff. Make sure to vacuum around the motor carefully to remove any fluff that could cause it to overheat. Clear all passageways before replacing the capacitor.
When removing the capacitor, take a photo of where the wires are connected. Many people make mistakes reconnecting them later. Hoover tumble dryers usually use Ducati capacitors with steel casings, which are readily available. But I still need to know the size of your capacitor to help you further.
I've put a link at the top of this page with a full list of spare parts for your machine. There are also exploded diagrams, a workshop manual, and a wiring diagram for future reference.
