Grundig GTN38250MGCG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Not Heating Up
Hi paul hope you are ok. I have a Grundig GTN38250MGCG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer. It just not heating up or drying clothes. Everything else seems good. What should I do? I need your help please.
I will try and help with this problem about Grundig GTN38250MGCG Heat Pump Tumble Dryer,
Hi John,
Thanks for your question about your heat pump tumble dryer. You have a Grundig machine, likely made by Beko. I found the full workshop manual, wiring diagrams, and technical information for your model, GTN38250MGCG. You can find links for spare parts at the top and bottom of the page.
First, check if the compressor is working correctly. Heat pump tumble dryers often build up fluff on the evaporator and condensing plate, especially if not maintained well. Fluff can stick to the pipework at the bottom of the machine, blocking airflow. If your condensing unit is blocked, this could be causing the problem.
Ensure the refrigeration level in the pipework is correct. One side of the coil should get warm while the other side gets cold. The cold cycle usually happens at the front of the machine, and the heating cycle happens at the back. Warm, moist air goes through the filter in the door, gets cooled by refrigeration, and condenses into liquid, which is then pumped to a collection tray. The air is then heated by another coil at the back.
If your compressor runs correctly and one side is cold while the other is warm, you have a good refrigeration circuit. The issue might just be a blockage causing poor airflow. The workshop manual will show you how to strip down the machine and access all components. It also includes a test diagnostic sequence to help diagnose any problems.
If the compressor isn't running, there might be an issue with a thermal cutout or lack of voltage reaching it. This could be due to a circuit board fault or a faulty NTC sensor or stat. Follow all procedures in the workshop manual to diagnose the problem.
I hope this information helps you with your repair. Good luck!
All the best,
Paul
