Grundig GTN38250HGCW Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Clothes Still Wet After a Cycle

Hi, love your videos btw, they're really informative. I have a Grundig GTN38250HGCW heat pump tumble dryer. After a full cycle number 6 ( and 7 and 8) , the clothes are coming out wet but warm. All the filters are clean, and have been cleaned regularly after each use. No water in the water tank. I tested the pump, but it works fine, there doesn't seem to be any water collecting in the well/reservoir. During the start of cycle 6, (first few minutes) I opened the kick plate to reveal the filter drawer, and I could feel cold air coming from the the drum down to the compressor. I would appreciate any advice on this.

Thanks for your question about your Grundig heat pump tumble dryer, model GTN38250HGCW. Heat pump tumble dryers often build up fluff not just at the filters but also inside the heat pump coils on the evaporator and condenser. If these are blocked, water can't collect in the reservoir to be pumped up to the collection tray.

Another issue could be that while the clothes get slightly warm, it doesn't mean the compressor is running efficiently. If the refrigeration system is low on gas or if the compressor isn't working right, water vapor won't condense properly.

I have obtained a workshop manual for you. It includes test procedures for each component, a wiring diagram, and instructions on how to enter diagnostic mode. It will also show you how to clean out the evaporator and condensing plate. You should see temperatures of 40 to 50 degrees on the heating side and as low as 0 to minus 10 on the condensing side, depending on room temperature and airflow.

I'll be making a detailed video on these dryers soon, but for now, please use the workshop manual. It also has exploded diagrams with reference numbers that match up with a full parts list at the bottom of the page.
