Candy CSEC9LF-80 Condenser Tumble Dryer Can a Drain Hose Kit Be Fitted to This Machine?
Hi, this is a maintenance query (perhaps) rather than a fault. I have a Candy CSEC9LF-80 condenser tumble dryer and have seen some vague acknowledgement that a drain hose kit can be connected to it to drain straight to the sink drain and no longer have to empty the tank. My question is do you know if this is actually possible on this model (or is the reference to a kit in the manual just because it coverage multiple models)? If it is possible can you advise how I can do it?
Thanks for your question about the Candy CSEC9LF-80 condenser tumble dryer and drain hose installation.
Most condenser tumble dryers come with a blanking plug at the rear. This plug can typically be removed to accommodate a drainage kit if you wish to connect the machine directly to a drain rather than using the standard water collection tray.
Some models in the Candy range can be fitted with an optional drainage kit for direct drainage. However, it's important to understand the limitations of the pump system. The internal pump is primarily designed to move water into the collection tray—it may not have sufficient power to pump water up to sink height. If your proposed drain point is significantly higher than the machine's outlet, the pump may struggle to reach it.
The good news is that conversion is usually straightforward if the drainage setup is compatible with your pump's capabilities. We've included manufacturer PDF documentation showing the available parts and installation guidance to help you assess whether this upgrade suits your needs.
