Candy CS C8LF-80 Condenser Tumble Dryer Drum Doesn't Spin
I have a Candy CS C8LF-80 Condenser Tumble Dryer. Still does the humming sound as if it's about to spin and spins if I go in do it by hand but then when it stops to change direction it stops working again.
Hi Bradley,
Thanks for sending the information regarding your Candy CS C8LF-80 Condenser Tumble Dryer. This sounds like a motor fault, usually caused by a faulty motor capacitor.
You may hear the motor humming, but the drum only starts turning after you push it by hand.
The way to access the capacitor depends on your machine model. Hoover and Candy do not always sell capacitors separately. You may need to check the label on the capacitor to find its size. It will show a number followed by “uF”, such as 8uF, 9uF or 10uF.
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the correct size from the parts list. Please inspect the capacitor to find the right one.
If you have a 7uF capacitor, here is the spare part link for you.
I have included a video to help you diagnose the fault and replace the capacitor. If you need further help, please contact us using the telephone number in the email.
All the best,
Paul.
