Sorry to hear about the problem with your washing machine. The E57 error code usually points to an issue with one of the circuit boards. Since it has an inverter motor, it's common for these inverter circuit boards to become faulty. Often, the triax on the board gets blown, or a track on the circuit board is damaged. Sometimes, simply repairing the track can fix the machine. This issue can be caused by excess load going to the motor, so it's worth inspecting that.

If you need to replace the board, here's a tip: use your model number on eBay but drop the last two digits. You might find a compatible circuit board from someone who has taken it out of a machine with a collapsed drum. This way, you can get a good part cheaply.

Another method to find a cheap circuit board is to look at the exploded diagram below. Each picture has reference numbers. Match these up with the component you're looking for at the bottom of the page. I've included Bosch's part numbers too. You can search for these as engineers often sell surplus stock on Gumtree, Facebook, eBay, etc., at low prices.
