Bosch SPS40E22GB/27 Dishwasher Water Not Heating Up

July 09, 2026
Customer Question

Hi Paul, I have a Bosch SPS40E22GB/27 Dishwasher. I changed the waste pump two months ago, and the machine has been working since then, until now. During the cycle, the dishwasher water is not heating up. The water does empty completely at the end of the cycle, so there are no issues there. The drying cycle is not hot, and the dishes come out cold and still have water on them. As the drying cycle ends, the ""check water"" light starts flashing. The inside of the machine is completely empty of water. Can you help to advise, please? Thank you.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for contacting us about your dishwasher problem. You need to check wires four and five on the motor, as these are part of the heating circuit.

I understand you ordered a motor from another supplier since we didn’t have it in stock. That’s okay. My main concern was diagnosing and repairing your dishwasher so it doesn’t go to waste.

I’ve included a picture showing the wiring configuration for the motor. I hope this helps. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any manuals due to manufacturer restrictions, but I found this image online.

I’m glad you fixed your dishwasher. Have a great day! if you ever need further help, remember we always have live streams running weekly to assist people with their problems on their dishwashers,  and many other products

Paul.
