I've a Bosch SMS58E22GB/85 Dishwasher and identified the leak it seems to be coming from the pump area there is slight corrosion on the metal pump motor body and water can be seen running down during pump cycle.
Hi Oliver, sorry to hear about the problem regarding your Bosch SMS58E22GB/85 Dishwasher.
The leak you are seeing, combined with the visible corrosion on the metal pump motor body, means the internal water seal inside your drain pump has completely failed. Because water has breached the electrical side of the motor and started rusting the casing, the entire pump must be replaced immediately before it short-circuits and trips your household electrics.
Replacement Drain Pump Part Number: 00631200
Before you start any work, you must completely disconnect the dishwasher from the electricity supply. Open the door and use a sponge or a small cup to scoop out absolutely all the water sitting in the bottom filter well so you have a dry workspace. To access the pump, you need to remove the top lid and the side panels. It is also highly recommended to take off the heavy front fascia door panel, followed by the lower plastic kick strip, to give yourself clear access to the bottom base of the machine. Behind that kick strip, undo the two Torx screws holding the metal cover plate and carefully unclip it using a flat-blade screwdriver.
With the cover plate off, you will see the pump motor. First, unclip the wiring harness from the top of the pump and move the water detection sensor wiring out of the way. To release the pump, feel for the plastic locking clip at the back, press it down firmly, and twist the entire pump motor clockwise. It will pull straight out of the housing. When fitting your replacement pump, ensure the new rubber seal goes in perfectly square so it doesn't get pinched, push it in, and twist it anti-clockwise until that locking clip clicks securely back into place.
Reconnect your electrical plugs and run a short test cycle while watching the base of the new pump. If the area stays completely dry without any drips, your repair is successful. I have placed two videos below, and I strongly recommend you watch the second video fully before picking up any tools. It visually guides you through safely removing that front door panel, locating the hidden Torx screws, and the exact twisting technique needed to unseat the old pump without breaking the plastic sump housing. You will also see some PDF documents for your machine. I hope these will help you fix your machine.
All the best,
Paul
