Beko WTG641M1W Washing Machine Not Spinning on High RPM
I have a Beko WTG641M1W Washing Machine. In diagnostic mode it gets to 6 ,starts draining but wont spin, then it wont proceed to 7 it just stays on 6 until it reset
Hi Nigel, thank you for sending the information regarding your Beko WTG641M1W Washing Machine.
If your machine isn't spinning on high RPM, a worn brush motor is a common cause—and the good news is that this is often repairable.
Understanding Your Brush Motor
Your Beko WTG641M1W uses a brush motor to drive the spin cycle. Over time, the carbon brushes inside this motor naturally wear down. When they become excessively worn or burnt at the tips, they lose contact with the commutator, preventing the motor from generating the power needed for high-speed spinning.
Safety First: Stop Using the Machine
If you suspect worn brushes, do not continue to use the machine. Running a washing machine with a failing motor can cause further damage to other components and may pose a safety risk. Instead, follow these steps:
- Stop using the machine immediately
- Ensure the machine is disconnected from the electricity supply
- Allow it to cool before proceeding
How to Check Your Carbon Brushes
Removing and inspecting the motor is straightforward with the right guidance. Here's what to look for:
- Visual inspection: Remove the motor carefully and locate both carbon brushes. They are small, rectangular components that slide along the motor shaft.
- Signs of wear: If the brushes are noticeably short, chipped, or have burnt or blackened ends, they need replacing.
- Contact us with photos: If you're unsure whether your brushes are worn enough to replace, take clear, close-up photographs of the old brushes and send them to us. We can advise you based on their condition.
