Beko WDX8543130W washing machine Drain pump noisy

December 10, 2023
Customer Question

My daughters washing machine has an intermittent problem, and I'm hearing some weird noises from the pump on some cycles it completes, but on others it stops with water in the drum. This model doesn't have a removable kick plate to access the screws to remove the drain pump. Would the whole front panel need to be removed? Can the motor body be removed for cleaning and repair from the housing in situ from below with the machine on its side, thus avoiding the need to remove the complete pump?

I'm truly sorry to hear about the troubles with your daughter's Beko WDX8543130W washing machine 🛠️. It sounds like there might be an obstruction in the pump or a restriction in the water flow through the sump hose or waste hose, especially if it's struggling to empty and making noise 🚰. If it's connected to the sink unit, a blockage there could also be causing issues with the water flow.

E05 is normally the error code when a machine is unable to empty in the allocated period of time I have also put a full list of all the ever codes on these Beko WDX series below. And also the wiring diagram for this machine.

When the cycle doesn't complete and water is left in the drum, it's often a sign of a blockage, a faulty pump, or something stuck in the pump 🌀. Accessing the pump in this model isn't straightforward, unfortunately. You'll need to disassemble the front panel, as detailed in the diagrams below. This involves removing the facial panel and its wiring, taking out screws at the top and base of the cabinet, and detaching the door seal and lock from the front panel. Expect this to take about 35 to 40 minutes ⏱️.

Once you have access to the pump, check it for any issues. It's a 240-volt pump, so it can be bench tested 🔌. Also, look through the sump hose for blockages; even a small sock can cause trouble! If your waste pipe connects to a sink unit, ensure there are no obstructions, as sink debris can lead to clogs.

There were two types of pumps used in this machine. The original has been replaced by a new model, part number 2840941500, which you can find on the provided page 🔄.

The exploded diagrams below will help you identify all the parts of your machine. You'll find links to parts not stocked in our UK warehouse and a selection of common parts we sell at the bottom of the screen. For Beko components, special orders may be required.
