Beko KDC653K Electric Cooker Not Getting to Temperature & Suspect the Heating Element
Hi there I had a kitchen fitted a couple of years ago and I bought this Beko KDC653K cooker from the AO. Now I have a problem that the oven is not getting to temperature. It seems to be burning the food on the top and not cooking evenly. What can cause this problem and should I replace any of the parts without replacing the oven with the new brand or so? Thanks in advance mate.
I will try and help with this problem about Beko KDC653K Electric Cooker,
Hi Amelia,
Sorry to hear about the problem with your Beko oven. Your cooker has three elements. The fan oven element is in the bottom oven and works with the fan motor. However, I believe you are referring to the top oven, which is cooking unevenly.
The top oven is a conventional oven. It uses part of the grill element and the base element when on the oven function. If one of these elements is faulty, it could cause uneven cooking.
Below, you'll find an exploded diagram of your cooker and a full list of spare parts. I've also included a couple of videos to help you. Testing the elements is easy. First, disconnect the cooker from the power supply. Then, remove the back of the cooker to access the wiring. Remove the two connections on the fan oven element and test it with a multimeter. Do the same with the base element.
When testing the grill element, remember it has a dual circuit, so there will be multiple wires. Take a photo of where each wire goes before removing them. Then test both sides of the element.
I've also included the workshop manual and wiring diagram for your cooker. If your bottom oven isn't heating correctly, it could be due to the fan motor not running at the correct speed and not distributing heat properly.
I have many videos on my YouTube channel to help with all types of faults in Beko cookers. If all elements test fine, you might have a problem with either the thermostatic system or the selector switch, which are common issues. These can also be inspected for damage and tested for continuity across each connection.
The workshop manual below will show you in more detail how to test all these components. I hope this article helps you. Remember, there are links above and at the bottom of this page for any spare parts you need.
