Beko DTLCE80121W Condenser Tumble Dryer Humming But Not Spinning
My Beko DTLCE80121W condenser tumble dryer has just stopped spinning and has started humming... I have checked the belt and it has not snapped and sits tight onto the drum. I suspect it is the capacitor where on my tumble dryer will this be located?

I've reviewed the schematics and found that this model uses a newer motor style with an integrated capacitor. Typically, a failed capacitor will produce a distinct humming noise. Because it is built directly into the unit, the standard protocol is to replace the whole motor. It might be possible to dismantle the assembly to swap out just the capacitor—while I haven't filmed a teardown for this specific model yet (though I recommend watching our previous video for other repair guides), it is definitely on my list for a future tutorial.
Sadly, this design is a textbook example of planned obsolescence. What used to be a quick £15 fix for a standalone capacitor now forces you to buy a complete motor assembly.
To help you properly diagnose the machine, I have included exploded diagrams and wiring schematics. Before buying parts, it is also worth manually checking if the drum is physically jammed, even though that is a less frequent issue.
Once you have the machine up and running again, remember that routine upkeep is vital. Consistently clearing out lint buildup will drastically improve the dryer's energy efficiency and performance. That's why I've also added a maintenance video below.
