Beko DTKCE80021W Condenser Tumble Dryer Needs Capacitor
Hello , I watched your video on replacing the capacitor and full maintenance on this model many time . It helped me diagnose that all i need is a new capacitor . The problem i have is that i can't see the capacitor on my Beko DTKCE80021W condenser tumble dryer. I expected it to be on the right hand side where the motor and the fan blades are in many of the videos . Can you please help by pointing me in the right direction of where the capacitor is on my model ? Many thanks in advance 🙂
I will try and help with this problem about Beko DTKCE80021W Condenser Tumble Dryer,
Hi John,
Sorry to hear about the problem with your Beko condenser tumble dryer, model number DTKCE80021W. According to the workshop manual, these dryers could have one of two different motors. One motor has a built-in capacitor, while the earlier version has an 8uF capacitor.
It's hard to tell from the exploded diagram which version you have, so you'll need to take the machine apart and compare the components. I've found the workshop manual, wiring diagram, and exploded diagrams for this machine to help you.
I apologise for how some manufacturers are making these dryers now. It used to be simple with a motor and a separate capacitor. Now, combining them makes repairs expensive because you have to replace the entire motor unit if the capacitor fails. This seems like built-in obsolescence.
Beko has always been good at providing information like data sheets, manuals, and diagrams to help with repairs. But their decision to combine parts is frustrating.
I've included some videos below to help if you have the early type of machine. I don't have an up-to-date video on the latest motors yet, but it’s on my list to do.
I hope this information helps you. You can use any reference numbers in the diagram below to find part numbers at the bottom of the page or use the link at the top for a full list of components for this machine.
Good luck with your repair! If you need more help, feel free to contact me.
All the best,
Paul
