Customer Question

Good Afternoon, I trust you are all well I have a Beko DSX83410W Heat Pump Tumble Dryer. I was wondering if you would be kind enough to perhaps advise or steer me in the right direction. After watching some of your videos, which are excellent and very informative. Thank you. I have thus made sure there are no blockages, unless I have missed something. The tumble dryer switches on and turns as it should. The issue we are having is that it is not warming up or collecting any water in the tank I would be most grateful for any advice and/ or assistance you may be able to offer Many Thanks in advance Kind Regards Graham

I will try and help with this problem about Beko DSX83410W Heat Pump Tumble Dryer,

Hi Graham,

Sorry to hear about the problem with your heat pump tumble dryer. Let me explain the system for you. You have a Beko XSX83410W heat pump tumble dryer. If your dryer isn't heating or cooling, it's just tumbling the clothes. This could be due to a faulty compressor, bad wiring, or a sensor not working correctly.

If the compressor isn't running, it won't generate heat. If the gas in the refrigeration system is low or empty due to a leak, it also won't generate any heat or cool on the evaporator or condenser. Another possibility is a severe blockage inside the condenser or evaporator, stopping it from working properly.

Heat pump tumble dryers are great but can be hard to repair because of excess dust and their complexity. I've contacted Beko and got you the full workshop manual for this machine. It shows how to clean and test all components and run diagnostic mode. There are also exploded diagrams showing every part of your machine.

The workshop manual is over 107 pages long and goes into detail on how to repair your machine. It explains how to take the machine apart, the refrigeration process, and how to access and clean the evaporator and condensing plates.

These manuals are very informative. The test procedure will help identify any errors, but it's worth reading through the manual to understand how the machine works and how to dismantle it for cleaning. You can use temperature gauges to measure the evaporator and condenser temperatures.

The heating side should reach 40-50 degrees after 15-20 minutes of use, while the condensing side could drop as low as minus 10 degrees, depending on airflow. Warm moist air generated by the compressor evaporates water in the drum, then condenses back into liquid via the refrigeration unit. This water is transferred to a pump system and then to the collection tray.

I hope this information helps you diagnose and repair your machine. Hopefully, it's just a blockage or an electrical failure rather than lost gas or a faulty compressor, which would be more costly to fix.

Good luck with your repair! If you need further help, feel free to contact us. I've added exploded diagrams of your machine at the bottom of this page for assistance with repairs or spare parts. I'll also be making some videos on heat pump tumble dryers soon to explain how they work.

All the best,
Paul
