Beko DS 7333 RX0 Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Not Heating Up
Dear Paul (& colleagues?), I have a Beko DS 7333 RX0 Heat Pump Tumble Dryer. For the last 9 years or so the machine has worked fine. The last months every now and then it has not dried well and yesterday it just didn't dry at all. I tried to diagnose the issue this morning, and: - The fan and tumbler/rotation is working; - The water pump in the bottom is working and not clogged; - The evaporator appears clean of blockages from the front (fluff filters were regularly cleaned throughout its life); - A substantial airflow arrives to the front / entry of the condenser; - The supplied air is clearly NOT heating up. My thoughts go to a tripped fuse or trip switch although I couldn't find any in an accessible spot, a broken temperature sensor or heat pump. Can you advise: 1. What you think might be wrong; 2. If such parts are still available; 3. What I can do to pinpoint the exact part I'd need. Best Regards, Paul PS: Thanks for your video on heat pump dryer diagnosis on Youtube, it was very insightful :-)
Hi Paul, thank you for your question regarding your Beko DS 7333 RX0 Heat Pump Tumble Dryer.
A heat pump tumble dryer works a little like a dehumidifier with a drum attached. It uses a refrigeration system with an evaporator and condenser: one part cools the air, while another helps warm it before it circulates through the drum.
Start by checking whether the compressor is running. If it is, the sealed refrigeration system may need to be assessed by a qualified technician. A low refrigerant charge can affect heating, but identifying the cause requires proper testing. Do not attempt to handle refrigerant yourself.
Restricted airflow can also prevent the dryer from heating effectively. Check and clean the filters and accessible airways as described in the manual. A blockage or buildup around the evaporator or condenser may require professional attention; avoid dismantling sealed or delicate components unless you are qualified to do so.
Heat pump dryers can be challenging to diagnose and repair, so seek help from an engineer experienced with this type of appliance. Not every appliance repairer works on heat pump models, so you may need to contact more than one.
I’ll attach technical information that may help you or the person repairing the machine. Without inspecting and testing the dryer, I can’t confirm the exact fault by email.
Good luck with the repair.
Paul
