Beko DHY9P56VW Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Not Drying Clothes
Hi Paul,I've got a Beko dhy9p56vw heat pump dryer that's only 2.5 years old. The drum spins and the drum and clothes get warm, but they don't dry. After a while there is a lot of condensation on the inside of the glass door and behind the cover for the evaporator. Also, there is no water filling into the water tank. I have checked the pump by connecting mains to it and it spins, so don't think its a pump issue. It seems that the warm air is not flowing through the dryer properly as noted by the condensation forming on the door. Both filters are clean. We clean the filter below the door every time we use it and the evaporator filter about once a month. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you require the serial number and any more details please let me knowKind Regards,Sam.

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the information on your Beko DHY 9P56VM heat pump tumble dryer. I've included exploded diagrams of the machine and the service workshop manual to help you out. The manual is limited, but on page 3, you can see the evaporator and condensing coil.
I believe these parts are clogged with fluff, or your ducting system is blocked. Heat pump dryers often get blocked over time if not regularly maintained. This causes high humidity inside the dryer as it heats the clothes but can't condense the liquid properly.
You have a big job ahead because the whole machine needs to be stripped, and both coils need thorough cleaning. Essentially, it’s a refrigeration unit. It heats the air going into the machine, and as the air goes back through the door and filter to the evaporator, it should condense water into a liquid that drains to the pump unit. Make sure to check for blocked ducting holes that transfer water to the pump unit, as blockages here can also cause issues.
Heat pump tumble dryers are known for being expensive and problematic. At a trade show in Berlin this year, I noticed manufacturers adding multiple filter systems to prevent fluff from reaching the condenser and evaporator due to this common problem.
Thoroughly cleaning your machine should get it working again, but be careful not to damage any pipework filled with refrigeration gas from the compressor.
Good luck with your repair.
All the best,
Paul
I have also added links at the top and bottom of the page for any spare parts you might need. You can usually match these with the reference numbers in the picture. However, in my honest opinion, no parts are necessary; you just need to clean and maintain the machine.
