Beko DCU8230 Condenser Tumble Dryer Tripping RCD

Hi I have stripped and cleaned my Beko DCU8230 condenser tumble dryer but even with line dried clothes that just need a little finishing off and not overloaded in the machine, 15 minutes or so with good heat and all working fine and it trips the rcd. The thermal cut off switch has a red reset push button but it will not depress so I am going to replace it but my question is, why is my machine heater heating if the thermal cut out has gone, I don’t think it should be producing heat . Could it be something else at fault also please. Thank you.

Hi, sorry to hear about the problem with your Beko DCU8230 tumble dryer. If the thermal cutout is open circuit, there should be no heat. Please do a continuity test using a multimeter to check if it's working. If you don't have a multimeter, you can buy a new one via our multimeter affiliate link.

I have also found the workshop manual for you. It shows how to test the full heating circuit. If the machine is heating with the thermal cutout open circuit, you might have a wiring problem. Without seeing the machine, it's hard for me to diagnose the issue.

There are 11 different variations of these tumble dryers. When looking for parts, make sure you use your full model number to get the correct component. The workshop manual explains the whole heating circuit and will help you diagnose the problem.

I've noticed that some of these tumble dryers have faulty relays on the heater when it's not heating, but that seems different from your problem. I hope this information is useful to you. At the bottom of the page, there are exploded diagrams of your machine with a full list of parts available.
