Beko BBVM13400XC Oven Fan Noise Is So Loud
Beko BBVM13400XC oven is making weird noise. There’s a loud, annoying noise coming from the fan I think. It used to be quiet, but now it’s very distracting and seems to get louder every time I use the oven. Any advice?
I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBVM13400XC Oven,
Hi Isabella, I'm sorry to hear about the loud and distracting noise coming from your Beko BBVM13400XC oven. It sounds like the noise is coming from the fan, which is a common issue in ovens and can be quite annoying. I've included exploded diagrams, common problems with electrical ovens, and related videos on loud noise issues with Beko BBVM13400XC ovens below that might help you.
The noise from the fan can be caused by several factors. One of the most common causes is the accumulation of debris or grease on the fan blades. Over time, particles from cooking can stick to the fan blades, causing an imbalance. Another potential cause is a loose fan blade or a blade that has become bent. If the fan blades are not properly secured, they can wobble and create noise.
One of the most common problems that occurs is the fan blade can catch on the element or the front fan guard. You need to check this by making sure the fan blade is secure and also make sure that you have not bent the fan guard inside the oven by putting a large pan in the oven which may have bent the fan guard. This also sometimes happens when people replace the element but you did not say if you had done any work on this previously.
The fan motor itself could also be the source of the noise. As the motor ages, its bearings can wear out, leading to increased friction and noise. If the motor bearings are the issue, the noise will typically get louder over time and may eventually lead to motor failure if not addressed.
To fix your problem, start by turning off the power to the oven and removing the back panel to access the fan. I will be dropping a video for you to learn how to do that. Then, inspect the fan blades for any visible debris, grease buildup, or signs of damage. If you see any debris, carefully clean the blades with a soft brush or cloth. If the blades are loose or bent, try to tighten or gently straighten them.
Next, check the fan motor. If you suspect that the motor bearings are worn out, you might hear a grinding or whining noise when you spin the fan manually. In this case, the motor will likely need to be replaced to resolve the issue.
I've included exploded diagrams and videos on how to check and remove the parts from Beko BBVM13400XC oven that might help you. All part numbers and exploded diagrams are listed below. If you need more help, feel free to contact me.
In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;
- Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
- Oven won't heat because timer on manual.
- Oven won't heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
- Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
- Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.
Common Problems with Electrical Ovens
- The oven will not turn on
The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.
- No Heat in Oven
If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.
- Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill
This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.
- The grill element doesn't work
This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.
- The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy
The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.
- The oven overheats and burns everything
Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.
- The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while
This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
