My beko oven BBIM14300BC is not working at all. The digital timer is lit but whatever setting I turn the selector to I'm getting no function. It's not heating and I can't hear the fan motor running.

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIM14300BC Oven,

I've included exploded diagrams, common problems with electrical ovens, and related videos on errors with Beko BBIM14300BC ovens below that might help you.

Hi Nicola,

Sorry to hear about the problem with your Beko oven. Let me share a couple of possible faults. Since you haven't explained the issue in detail, I'll assume that none of the functions on the selector switch are working.

You might have one of two problems. First, you could have accidentally set the cooker to automatic mode, which stops the oven from starting. Check the manual and ensure the cooker is set to manual mode.

If the timer is working correctly, you might have a burnt-out selector switch. This can happen if you turn the thermostat on before selecting a programme on the switch. Over time, this causes arcing on the contacts and eventually burns out one of them, disconnecting power to the whole cooker. It's a common fault.

For future reference, always select the cooking function before turning on the thermostat to prevent high amperage arcing on the selector switch. It’s surprising that manufacturers don’t include this in their manuals.

If you have some electrical knowledge, I've added videos below about selector switches that may help you. There's also a workshop manual explaining all oven functionalities, how to change components, and how to test them. A full wiring diagram is included to help you understand the electrical circuit for repairs. Additionally, there's a list of parts at the bottom if you need any components.

Feel free to contact me if you need further assistance.

Best regards,
Paul

I've included exploded diagrams and videos on how to check and remove the parts from Beko BBIM14300BC oven that might help you. All part numbers and exploded diagrams are listed below. If you need more help, feel free to contact me.

In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;

  1. Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
  2. Oven won't heat because timer on manual.
  3. Oven won't heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
  4. Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
  5. Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.

Common Problems with Electrical Ovens

  • The oven will not turn on

The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.

  • No Heat in Oven

If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.

  • Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill

This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.

  • The grill element doesn't work

This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.

  • The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy

The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.

  • The oven overheats and burns everything

Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.

  • The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while

This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
