Customer Question

Hi Paul,The control knobs on my Beko BBIF22100W AeroPerfect oven has stopped working. I can hear the fan running in the oven but I'm getting no heat. The light works. I tried it on grill setting and that works perfectly. Have you any idea on how to rectify this? I have seen a few videos but I'm not technically minded.Cheers

I will try and help with this problem about Beko BBIF22100W Aeroperfect Oven,

I've also included exploded diagrams, common problems with electrical ovens, and related videos on control knobs and other parts problems with Beko BBIF22100W ovens below that might help you.

Hi Robert,

Don't worry too much; this might be a simple fault. If your Beko oven isn't heating, it's usually a problem with the fan oven element. You can easily test this using the video below. I've made many videos on diagnosing problems with these cookers. Let me guide you through the steps.

First, take out all the shelves in the oven. Then, remove the back plate inside the oven. For safety, make sure the power is disconnected from the machine. Next, take out the fan oven element. You can then do a continuity test on the element to check if it has a circuit. If it's an open circuit, it's a simple repair – just replace it.

The proper way to do this is by using an ohms reading on your meter to check against the wattage of the element, but that might be a bit advanced for you. Another issue could be no power going to the fan oven element. This could also be a simple fix, possibly due to a problem with the thermostat or selector switch, which often wears out because people don't use the oven correctly.

It's worth repairing if your oven is in good condition as these parts are affordable. The selector switch and fan oven element aren't expensive, but you'll need some knowledge to diagnose the problem. If you have 240 volts going to the element, it's usually the element at fault and needs replacing. If there's no voltage getting to it, you may have an issue with the thermostat or timer.

This might be more technically advanced, so you may need someone with electrical knowledge to assist you. I hope this helps. I've included some videos below to assist you, as well as the workshop manual, exploded diagrams of your machine, and a full list of parts if needed. Feel free to contact me if you need further assistance.

Hope this helps!

To check the continuity, you can use a multimeter. If you don't have one, you can buy a new multimeter via our affiliate link. I will drop a a video for you to learn how to check the parts with multimeter.

I've included exploded diagrams and videos on how to check and remove the parts from Beko BBIF22100W oven that might help you. All part numbers and exploded diagrams are listed below. If you need more help, feel free to contact me.

In the video, I mentioned about 5 common problems.;

  1. Oven will not heat because the element is faulty.
  2. Oven won't heat because timer on manual.
  3. Oven won't heat because of a fault with thermostat or selector switch.
  4. Oven not cooking evenly (one element faulty or fan not working correctly).
  5. Oven not reaching temperature normally an element but possible fan motor.

Coomon Problems with Electrical Ovens

  • The oven will not turn on

The first thing you need to check is that the oven timer is not on auto if it is, turn it on to manual.

  • No Heat in Oven

If the fan is running and the thermostat light comes on but you get no heat (or just the thermostat light on in non-fan ovens and cookers) then the probability is that the fan element or oven elements have failed.

  • Electricity trips (Rcd) when I turn the oven on or grill

This is normally an element that has gone to earth, This is a well-known fault with electric ovens, the insulation breaks down in the elements and trips the RCD , best way is to stick a meter on each element and check that they have not got earth leaks on them. But this can also be a wiring fault.

  • The grill element doesn't work

This would usually indicate that the grill element is faulty. Check these: Grill element, Oven changeover switch, Overheat thermostat, Main oven thermostat, if used to regulate the grill temperature.

  • The oven fan is not working or spinning correctly (slow) or is noisy

The fan motor may need to be replaced see video on this also the cooling fan motor can cause same problems.

  • The oven overheats and burns everything

Normally this is a simple thermostat failure which would manifest itself as this symptom.

  • The oven or cooker cuts out after it's been on for a while

This is an overheating problem which can be caused by the fan motor or main oven thermostat or a faulty safety thermostat that will be causing the problem. It can also be caused by a failure of the cooling fan, where fitted, but usually these go noisy before failing, Safety thermostats are used to prevent the oven or cooker overheating and will shut the oven down.
