AEG T8DEE845R Heat Pump Tumble Dryer Taking Excessively Long to Dry
My AEG T8DEE845R Heat Pump Tumble Dryer appears to be working normally but taking excessively long to dry much much longer than normal, hrs and hrs, no/minimal water in tank. Def getting warm on side of machine to touch. In desperation called BG engineer out who has put into diagnostic mode and ran a brief program which started to show 18 which changed to 19, then 20, 21, 22, 23. He obtained a code of ED5, and said this was a possible leak? And couldn’t/wouldn’t check anything else. A few weeks ago there might have been an electrical/warm smell in the room when the machine was running but not sure. Also I think a while ago one of the drying loads might have seemed to have run longer and hotter than normal (usual sensor settings) but really not sure. My machine is only just over 5 years old and upset and desperate to get fixed, I look after the filters too and clean fluff out prob every use, the condenser periodically.
Hi Lisa, I’m sorry to hear about your AEG T8DEE845R heat pump tumble dryer. This is a common problem, and many people say these dryers do not last very long.
If the condenser or evaporator is blocked or not working well, the machine may need a full strip-down and deep clean. This can take a lot of time and may cost more than the dryer is worth.
I can share technical manuals, but you will need a good local engineer who is willing to take on the repair. Sadly, I cannot give you better news.
Best wishes,
Paul
